The Wisdom of the Trees

I noticed an old leaf from last year, still clinging to its branch. Beside it, a fresh bud was preparing to embrace the new spring. It made me reflect on how we often hold on to the past, driven by fear of the unknown. Afraid to let go and take the leap into something new. But isn’t that a beautiful lesson? To shed, release, and make space for growth and renewal. A profound reminder of wisdom, quietly offered by nature.

Just as a tree gracefully lets go of its leaves, renews itself, and remains deeply rooted, so too do we in life—whether embarking on a new journey, reinventing ourselves, or growing a business.

Happy Spring 😊

Nestled in a quaint village in East Devon lies a hidden gem of beauty, waiting to be discovered by those fortunate enough to stumble upon it. Recently, I had been reading Kyle Gray's book, Angels Are With You Now, and as I came across this serene spot, I couldn’t help but feel the light breaking through the darkness, It felt like a reminder that light will always find a way—if we embrace it. It was then, amidst this moment of reflection, that I realized I had lost my bank card. By this point, I had already walked at least a mile through fields and woodland.

On my way back, I noticed a family in the distance—a father and his two children. To my surprise, the little boy ran up to me, asking if I had lost a bank card. I asked if it had my name on it, and he confirmed with a cheerful "yes." Imagine that—my card, found in the middle of nowhere! In that moment, it felt as though magic was in the air. Now, as I revisit Kyle Gray's book, I feel inspired again by the possibility that angels might truly be among us.

After spending the weekend in Chorley, I couldn’t stop thinking about one of my favorite spots, Burrow Mump. Every time I visit, it's scattered with litter, and it always bothers me. That’s when I decided to take action. A friend of mine generously lent me her spare litter picker, which gave me the tools I needed to make a start.

On Monday morning, I headed to Burrow Mump and, as anticipated, found plenty of litter scattered around. Motivated by Kyle Gray’s book, *Angels Are With You Now*, I felt inspired to take action and bring a touch of positivity to my environment. With a renewed sense of purpose, I started cleaning up, knowing my efforts were helping to restore the area’s natural beauty.

This spot is cherished by so many, and I wanted others to experience the same sense of peace and joy it brings me. What better way to show gratitude for this beautiful space than by giving back? As I worked, I took a moment to thank the angels and Mother Earth for this serene, healing place.

After finishing, I treated myself to a quick brew at the local café, Burrow Munch, before they sadly closed for good. The takeaway lesson from my morning? "How can I make a difference to others through a small, random act of kindness?"

At times, the path ahead may seem unclear. Other times, we catch only a fleeting glimpse. Yet, with courage, the resolve to overcome fear, and the willingness to take it one step at a time, we can move forward.

I tend to catastrophise, but I work through it. What if, beyond all the fears and doubts that hold us back, we chose to surrender, trust, and embrace fearlessness instead?

Beneath the chaos, beauty emerges—persistently breaking through every obstacle in its path.

Two elegant and graceful creatures, embodying beauty and poise. There’s always a sense of wonder in spotting swans.

Embrace the now.

A peaceful morning stroll around the pond at a nature reserve in Burnham-on-Sea. The sight of ducks gliding across the water and two graceful swans is always a delight. After a night of heavy rain, the air feels crisp and cold, carrying a sense of renewal. Still in my pyjamas, I take a gentle walk around the pond, pausing to practice a Dao Yin breathing exercise, focusing on the four directions. My breath forms delicate clouds of mist in the chilly air, and the cold numbs my hands. As I walk, I notice the morning dew glistening on a branch, a simple yet beautiful reminder of nature's quiet wonders. Grateful for the moment, I return to my car just as the rain begins to pour again, its rhythmic patter against the car creating a soothing melody to end this serene start to the day.

"I am alive" Being alive means embracing the endless possibilities that life has to offer. It’s about cherishing every moment, learning from experiences, and constantly growing. Life is a beautiful journey filled with highs and lows, and being alive gives us the unique opportunity to explore, create, and connect with the world around us. Living fully also means finding purpose and meaning in everyday actions. Whether it’s through pursuing passions, building relationships, or making a positive impact, being alive is a gift that allows us to leave a mark on this world. Each day is a chance to thrive, to dream bigger, and to live boldly.

One of my favorite places that never fails to touch my heart. It’s not exactly a woodland, but after an intense crystal healing session, I was guided to pull a card that read: “Go to Glastonbury Tor. Remember who you are.” During my first visit, I felt my energetic roots reaching deep into the earth, spreading wide and connecting me to something greater.

Glastonbury Tor has a profound heart-opening effect. Every time I visit, I feel my heart expand with warmth and wonder.

Overcoming Resistance

Nestled in the serene surroundings of Buckfast Abbey in Buckfastleigh, inspiration struck as I sat beneath a majestic tree. Using the naturally fallen materials around me, I combined them with a few knitted pieces I had created during a previous residency to express my love through art.

It felt as if my heart overflowed with love, bursting into a radiant, fleeting cascade of emotion. It was a profound reminder of the transformative power of forgiveness in cleansing and renewing energy.

Bystock Pool nature reserve.

Tranquil waters invite us to pause, offering a gentle reminder that amidst the chaos and noise of life, we can discover stillness. By opening our hearts and reconnecting with our true essence, we embrace the healing power and timeless wisdom of nature.

As Bruce Lee wisely stated, "Be like water "

We have the power to be adaptable, resilient, and unstoppable—just like a flowing current.

The root path. All entwined, connected just as we are. Some people connect, some people don't, and some are like a constant sweeping cleanse we heal and let go from. Each interaction shapes us, whether it's fleeting or profound, and the energy we exchange with others becomes part of our journey. The root path teaches us to honor these connections, even the ones that challenge us, as they often reveal truths about ourselves and guide us closer to our purpose. It's within these moments of connection—or disconnection—that we find growth, self-awareness, and a deeper understanding of the world around us.

Thriving together in perfect harmony, like trees flourishing beside the life-giving waters of a flowing stream at Bystock Pool Nature Reserve.

I call this part the dragon's feet—firmly rooted, strong, and powerful. From this steadfast foundation, he watches over his children, guiding them as they grow and take form through his teachings.

Embracing creativity in nature unlocks our imagination and inspires us to think freely and explore new possibilities.

Old leaves linger, clinging to their branches. Are they hesitant to let go, not out of fear of dying, but in anticipation of transforming—becoming part of nature's endless cycle of renewal? Or perhaps they eagerly await their next phase, simply not quite ready for the leap. Much like the bond between parent and child, as we guide and nurture our children through the ever-changing stages of life.

A rust-colored carpet of leaves decorates the ground, signaling the change of seasons. Some trees stand vibrant in lush green, while others are bare, revealing the beauty of contrast in nature. There’s a quiet mystery in their wisdom—an endless cycle of growth, transformation, and renewal. As some shed their leaves to make way for fresh growth, they remind us that every season is an opportunity to rejuvenate and thrive.

Despite the lingering grip of winter's chill—cold, wet, and under dull skies—the blooming flowers stand as a hopeful symbol of brighter days ahead.

In life's darkest moments, there is always hope—a chance not just to persevere, but to grow and thrive.

The roots of the tree at Woodbury Castle spread wide and deep, embodying strength and resilience. They remind us of an essential lesson: to stay rooted and grounded as we grow and thrive. Trees endure countless seasons—some are felled by fierce winds, yet the miracle of new life begins again with the smallest seedling, continuing the cycle of growth and renewal.
